PUDDLE JUMPER - beta1 by Candea Vladimir (starting from Digitale DAE_Jumper addon) DOWNLOAD:Link removed due to copyright issues. FEATURES:Cloaking:Full cloak feature makes it invisible for human players and AI. Can be activated while not in Battle mode from inside and outside on a range of 100m BattleMode on/off: While engine is on it opens the lateral engines (animated) and activates the weapon system. It also acts like an overburn giving to the jumper a supplement of speed in battle. While opened cloak cannot be activated and will deactivate cloak when initialized. Drone weapon:Capable of locking on vehicles and aircrafts with very high maneuverability. AI scripted:AI will take advantage of cloaking and weapon. For SAFE and AWARE behavior Battle Mode is off. For STEALTH mode of combat it will cloak. For COMBAT mode will get into BattleMode. If still in Combat and has no ammo it will cloak for as long the danger is present or until ordered. Transports 7 soldiers + 1 pilotTravels through Stargate ALTHOUGH in the next version I will try to make a script which will automate the jumper to pass through the gate. Credit specification
Although I only took from Digitale the Drone and the interior meshes I feel that I need to pay the necessary credit to him. I did not had his permission but I asked for it offering my help in an eMail and I got no response.
I started to reverse engineer his model but because was full of errors (eg. drone geometry was bad and flied away from targeted vehicle - lost a day to figure it out) I builded my own from scratch.
I did it because I got bored waiting for this addon.KNOWN ISSUES - Forgot to animate the Geometry LOD so the actual form is the jumper with open engines. - cockpit displays not textured - aft door not opening because it would had made impossible for ai to board the jumper if no player were in control - missing onboard DHD able to dial the Stargate (maybe the guys who wrote the original DHD will write one for the jumper I don?€™t have the time to reverse engineer their DHD) ---And if you find more bugs please eMail me on candeavladimir@yahoo.com or write on this forum THIS IS AN OPEN SOURCE ANYONE WHO WANT TO IMPROVE IT CAN DO IT WITHOUT ASKING ME (if he wants to remain anonymous) BUT PLEASE PAY CREDIT TO THE FORMER AUTHORS. Tested. Not bad, though I missed sounds, and the drone model itself. Is it a separate download? I haven't been able to see drones in neither of both jumpers.
About the Stargate, I haven't been able to fly through the Earth gate in my first test, I'll keep trying though. And the DHD, maybe it isn't so hard, I'll have a look too.

Is there a special reason why you defined it as a helicopter?
You can actually make a DHD dial with this jumper. It's just some scripting and a trigger in the editor. But just the buttons in the puddle jumper wouldn't light up or anything (i forgot what they do in the show).
When I was testing there were a few points which attracted my attention. Maybe you know them already. From the outside the front window isn't transparent and some points of the model were flickering (especially the upper left corner of the back). I don't know but aren't the drones shot out by the engine pods? They came out of the middle.

ill have a look at this and see if i can improve it. i got a very good Drone weapon model ill probably add.
i asked dsf about adding a auto landing sort of thing into the 1.4 gates. where a puddlejumper can follow a route of waypoints to put it safly through a stargate. see if we can make them both compatible. ill update you all tonight.
also i have walmis WIP puddle jumper. its just got too many faces. anyone have any idea how to easily reduce it?

well i gave it a test was nice to finaly get a jumper with no p3d error LOL nice work so far, love the weapon pods nit picking ? ok 1st the textures, they shimmer on mine :blush: although that shimmer would make a nice effect as it was cloaking :lol: i had no sound on my pc ? after editing your config (i got sound) but then got a scope error, im a bit of a noob so i probably screw'd something anyways when i got sound, it sounded prity poor during power up and when flying faster, its picth is way out like i said im a noob so i cant help much but what i can do is give you sounds that kick ass http://www.wraith517.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/TEMP/Jumper_Sounds.rarin this rar is the following main engine (external use plane setting) Inside Hum (enviroment noise) pod deploy pod retract they sound perfect on sound blaster audigy B) and heres a little SGA tune i was playing on my new synth :whistle: http://www.wraith517.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/TEMP/SGAMessageHomeByTheWraith.mp3links are temporary so get em while you can ps thanks for the jumper

I'm glad you enjoy the jumper. It is my first full addon.
So ... some explainations:
1. So far as I saw in the movie( and i've seen them all to date season 3 included) the jumper made NO SOUND If you look in the config.cpp it has a sound engine.wav which is silent and also it has a parameter AUDIBLE set that it can pass silent for AI.
2. The initial model I was using was a very accurate high polygon creating huge problems to the engine. So I reduced the polys but it still has errors like flickering triangles... I think unless you are prepared to change the body there is no solution to this. As for the butons... I told you this is beta didn't had the time. If someone can do it he is welcomed.
3. IT HAS A ACCURATE DRONE P3D. It is not defined as a proxy because when the jumper is cloaked it will remain visible . The same reason for no inside view the pilots would have remained supended in thin air... When the drone is fired you can see it The orange thing...

realy fine work for a first addon, ive made a few and it beats all mine lol
the drone looks good, has a real orange glow to it i never checked, but can you see them in the dark ? that would be cool
it does make a sound as the weapons come out i cant name an atlantis episode were you hear it but you hear it in sg1 (the ep with the time ship)
the pod fx i provided are tweaked F16 gear fx from a sonic foundry pack, disk 7 i think their license free fx the engine is (c)mgm i guess and the inner hum also mgm/universal fx cd3

I am the author (Digitalae) of the original Puddle Jumper add on that was released as an early test version.
I am sorry that I did not reply to any email regarding consent to use the model, this was because I never received an email requesting consent although you may have sent one.
I will admit that I am unhappy that you have decided to use parts of my model without first receiving consent from myself as I do not agree with this, as stated within the readme file that accompanies the add on. However I am glad that you have accredited the original source, I would ask that in future if you would like to use any of my work, please make sure that you do receive consent from myself first and if you do not receive a reply or consent, then this means I have either not received a request or do not agree to give consent.
I am not trying to have ago at you, it?€™s just that I have spent a lot of time on these models and currently none of my models are open source. I know people are waiting for them to be finished, but as you may know I am working on a lot of addons and I don?€™t have a lot of free time to finish them. I will have to point out that this will be the only time that I will allow anyone to use a piece of my work without permission.
I do however wish you the best of luck with finishing your addon

its a unsigned agreement with in addon makers. if a addon maker was to patent a addon he could legaly sue you for using HIS CREATION with out his permission.
i would aslo be very upset if someone released a addon that i had created and released it. this is why there are few betas released publicly. people would change things then release them with out permission.
i replied SGT_evesman, about finnishing a weapon pack that was put inot one of his swat units. he didnt replie so i dicided to leave it. the readme usually says if the author is not bothered about there work being modified.

If I was going to modify someone else's addon, sure I would ask for permission, but if I didn't get an answer (be it because the creator can't read my mail, or because he wants to show me how impolite he is) I would modify it anyway. Maybe I would think more throughtly of releasing it, but hey, if I wanted to get it improved, sure everyone would welcome a better made addon, than waiting for the original improvement, that may take a very long time to be released. That really helps addons to be throughtly tested, reported, and faster improved. Actually, lots of addon makers don't credit BIS, because they are using their engine. I think that cases of reverse-engineered released addons are quite rare, and even more rare are the cases in which the modifier doesn't credit the original creator, so I don't know why everyone is so scared. And given the case that someone didn't credit a creator, hey, sure he has evidences that he originally did the addon and not the impostor posing as such. I seriously doubt that any of the SG-mods here would have such problems. Nothing is impossible, but neither it is totally possible. Cheers. things may move faster. but you may also end up with 100 different overwriting versions of the addon that all compete with each other and are in different folders. you may or may npot have noticed tha bxbx has allowed modification of the stargate. (but with permission).
very few bis models are used anymore and bis have allowed the public to modify their models and the game, on a single condition that no money is made from release.
sumone recently modified SG90.pbo with cheeters p90 model with out getting permission from the original creator or bxbx. if this had occired with one of my addons i would be upset. modification is allowed as long as you dont release it. i have fixed a few addons but have not released the fixed version. like the way the pyramids collapse in the pyramid pack. i asked the creator and told him the problem and how to fix it. but when he replied he did not say i could so i left it.
i also have retextured the Puddle jumper internals and am working on the exteranls. though i had no permission i was going to send the finnished product to digitalae. i ahve also informed him of the changes i was capable of doing. and asked if he was interested in joining forces.
impatience is a bitch.
what if i was to begin to modify the OFP game engine and create all the addons that BIS were developing for ArmA. as they were taking their time to release it? BIS would be pritty pissed.
