it should help, the major problem with large maps was the detect script but that been competely rewritten. not even half the retexturings been completed but i'm sure you all won't mind for the beta

how do you get that? do you need to pickup it at the earth dailing computer or somewhere else?

and are the guaulds able to pick it up from a dead player?:P

In OFP version, the GDO was scripted, so those units without the proper init script wouldn't have it, and since it was a scripted property and not an actual object in your inventory, you wouldn't be able to take it from anyone else.

I don't know how they're planning to do it for ArmA, but I'm guessing they'll use a similar approach.
