Most other mods aren't this complicated, to be blunt.

Let's say I were to make an(other) Falklands mod...
On simplest terms, I would need to:
Reskin a few units.
Make a few units.
Add some script to the units, possibly.
Make a campaign.
Add some scripting to the missions.

Yes, that is some degree of work.
Creating a mod with all the functionality of the gate is VERY script heavy. The amount of internal playtesting that is undergone to verify that one change to one script works can be immense.

Doesn't matter... it'd take a lot of time anyways. I'm a professional programmer, and believe me, that stuff you saw is not something you come across in a day with no bugs whatsoever. The time it's taking to be ready, is totally normal, and you don't want to rush it, it's something that takes whatever time it needs, or it risks coming out as shit, and that's not good. :)

hmm ok i dont know much about modding, scripting etc.. the ace mod seems very complicated too but there are many people working on i think. how many people are working on this mod actually?

they make for free and are so nice that they give it to us to enjoy it aswell.

if they would take money from you then you could sure complain BUT like told its free so just wait

The Stargates as an individual addon is one of the largest and most complex plugins for ArmA, when you add Challanged Empires into that equation then you have the largest mod in ArmA.

Honestly is actually a problem finding people who can understand the way the gates work, so extra help is limited; lets just say that 90% of a few good peoples spare time is going into this addon.

It won't be dropped and will eventually be finished, with all our promises included; currently we're on the tipping point for the first beta. Once we've sorted a few issues we'll release and check how it works, then we'll tweak and add more and release again; once were happy with the gates we'll shift our attention back to CE.

We know its a pain but do be patient.

yeah kinda....but you guys doing a great job^^ and this is kinda really cheap:P so its ok to wait

even when i really wanna have the gates in multiplayer....

the lit DHD button textures look like blurried, or softened or something like that. Is that the way they are, or is it some special setting you have in your graphics options?
