Nope.
Going that the majority of users will try and break stuff, we have the situation where you have a 7-glyph next to a 1 glyph:
A (1-7) B C D E F G
There are several things that could happen:
1) We detect the 1 glyph first, then read the 7 glyph and have an address of A1234567BCDEFG
2) We detect the single first and have the address of ABCDEFG
3) We detect the seven first and have an address of 1234567
What was the user after? Did they actually want A123456?
By having a group go down that places 1 2 3 4 5 6 7, the user can see exactly what they have and know what behaviour to expect.
