Master Bra'tac beat Apophis in a game of chess. Using Mr Bun the Baker.

When Master Bra'tac fell from above and failed to learn to fly on the way down, Hannor Mir still became a street pizza.

Eventually after all of these fake releases were going to get into a cry wolf situation. When you finally actually release the mod there might not be alot of people around to download it.::)

Nah, it's a filtering process you see... Long waits between releases ensures that all the peeps guaranteed to never read the release 'readme' file lose interest.

Thus saving us alot of wasted development tIme on RTFM replies.

p.s. The Stargate are current undergoing dialing tests.

little question:P

or better senario^^

i got a mod (sorry i forgot the name) which gives you the ability to lift stuff via helicopter. you drop the cargo robes and after the robe catched the object you can fly around with it.

what will happen when i activate the gate and fly around with it?

will the teleport go to the place where the gate now is or was? and also the projectiles.

If it has an automatic address, in theory you won't we able to dial it if you move it - we made it so precise that one step is a new address.
In theory, it will work as normal when it dials out, as everything is relative to the gate.

We've not tested this scenario yet, we've trying to test standard operation first!

I'd like to correct the above statement.
Yes, true we do assign a random Stargate address which is down the mm but it's only assigned on startup, any further address changes will have to be triggered (the code for this has not been written yet); this means that a Stargates address will not automatically change on move.

To answer your question, people will teleport from and to the Stargate eventhorizion, whereever it us at that exact moment.

Thanks. We discussed having it search for a gate before then realised a few potential issues with it, busy day in the office and only remembering half of conversations!

If you tell a gate to be Earth or if you lay glyohs next to it, it'll keep that address. Otherwise it will extract an address absed on its location on the map.

It'll keep the address unless you ask it to update it's location (a code thing), where it will then either get a new address based on it's location or a custom address (via glyphs at the new location).

What'll it do if we put two gates down with glyphs next to them, as below:

Code: [Select]
 __
/  \
|  |
\__/
    A B C D E F G
 __
/  \
|  |
\__/

Have we yet put the failsafe in to stop them both assuming the address ABCDEF and origin G?

are you changing anything about the dhd´s?

so i can take a gate(address like earth) via the helicopter and transport it to a single dhd

then i can dail out with the origin of earth right?

would be nice to fool around in missions:P or i take a dhd and remove it from the gate:P

what about you make it that way so the gates and dhd´s have to be syncronized?

so you could take a dhd and hide it somewhere close:P

in the old version the gate took just the closed dhd.....

Who ever is developing the stargates, could they not release a static version of the Gate and the DHD, just the models essentially, so we can use them in missions and videos, I can tell from the videos they look good enough.....
