This thread has been archived - Due to the new forum structure this thread has been split and locked to prevent confusion

DSF Productions is pleased to announce the continuation of or 'StarGate:Challenged Empires' Total Conversion, now for ArmA and ArmA II

The TC will be focused mainly on Multiplayer Gameplay and on large campaign scale battles between rival forces competing for territory, with the join in progress functionality its possible for games to span from hours to days.

Gameplay will be very loosely based on CTI, it will incorperate resource and intellegence gathering as well as planet / space combat and a degree of experiance base skills.

We've yet to truely decide what were going to incoperate as it possibilities are endless but we've decided to release 'Episodes' for ArmA which will introduce players to the various game concepts and planets they'll encounter in the SG:CE.

The 'Episodes' will be multiplayer missions used to build up the SG:CE Story Arc and each will focus on one area of gameplay the player will need when playing the finshed TC.

Episode 1: Hidden Danger - TBC

This episode is currently under production, it will focus on a emergency situation offworld. A SG team cut off from the SGC with the fate of Earth soley on there shoulders.

Any ideas are welcome, be it missions or addons; pretty much we'd like to hear your thoughts.

Since the forum topics combined, this thread has also updated the community on the standalone Stargate addon.

Heres the progress:

Textures: 75%
Models: 98%
Code: 90%
Sounds: 90%
Animation: 98%

I've now locked the functionality for the first release, this means i won't add anymore functions untill the next; it also means that once i'm happy that the current beta is stable it will be put to the beta testers then released.

Heres the current function list:

A DHD release only (like the alpha)
Easy custom address system (glyphs placed on map)
New textures
New Wormhole (random fx)
Multiplayer Support
New DHD support

Other than these then the gates will work just like in OFP; a second release will follow shortly after the first.

ITER was originally an acronym for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, but that title was dropped due to the negative popular connotation of "thermonuclear", especially when in conjunction with "experimental".

Hi all,
Just a quick update on the SG:CE front; we've recently had a bit of a blessing fall into our laps.

The orginal OFP SG:CE was based on CTI code; we did it to save time but it ment we couldn't convert it over to ArmA.
We had decided to build up new code in parts (ie the 'Hidden Danger' missions) but along with the 1.14 patch the lovely chaps a BI dropped 'Warfare' into our laps.

From now on we're using Warfare as the backing code for the SG:CE gametype which will speed up development x10 cos we don't need to reinvent the wheel; it will be massively changed and in include space combat.

This means that once the new beta of the gates our out, each new beta will include copies of SG:CE in its various stages.

I know you've all been waiting along time and i thank you for being patient, we're almost there...

On a related note, if anyone would like to help in the development of the gates or/and SG:CE then send me over a PM, at the moment i'm the only one developing them and with a full time job and part time studies its slowing down its progress.

Cross-server... I don't think I've actually understood that concept... does that mean that you can gate to another server and not just another gate in the same server??

Oh, and some news updates there would be good, probably most of the people just reads things there... and look at the rank: 33 of 7,580

Wow... that adds a totally different concept to the SG mod... with servers running different islands, the gameplay possibilities are infinite. Amazing.

We hit #1 on release days

Should do that again when the new beta is out. :)
No one can resist the charm of playing in a Stargate Universe without the game being a MMORPG hehehehehe
