That's multiplayer, right?
Then you'd have to set the respawn options in the description.ext file from your mission.
I had a template for that in OFP, but don't know about ArmA.

Cheers

The respawn settings in ArmA are the same as in OFP.
Details: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Description.ext#Respawn_Options

As an alternative to the seagull, there's a spectator script created by Kegetys which puts you in a camera view. And via a UI you can switch to any human player and watch them play from any direction.

well ok that would burn the bird but well then instead of the bird i would respawn.

yes it was multiplayer.the thing is when u idle some time u become that bird i dont want that.is there also a something i can do to deactivate that? it would be really sad if someone want to dial the gate(when he is not that fast) and becomes a bird suddently.

and when i change that respawn then he still would die,or wouldnt he?

edit: where is that description data anyway? i dont find such a data with my mapname

No! By maps default you become a bird when you DIE, so someone must have killed you in game.

yes. change the type of respawn in the mission. done by setting the variable "respawn" to one of the values, descripted on the page i linked above. that setting is done in the file is called "description.ext" and is located in the missions root folder. If you don't have such a file in your mission, then create one.

when someone kills you, you will still die. by changing the respawn, you can decide what happens after your death.

It's probable he got killed by the gate when going through.

like told i was just dailing the dhd o.O then i became bird....that strange thing happened already 3times

a sentence comes up with fleeing from the battlefield so i think it got something to do with idling.

Was the fleeing the battlefield thing part of a script to stop you straying too far, or was it one of the random war quotes you get when you die?

Were you dialling out under fire? Were you shot whilst dialling?

Master Bra'tac beat Apophis in a game of chess. Using Mr Bun the Baker.

When Master Bra'tac fell from above and failed to learn to fly on the way down, Hannor Mir still became a street pizza.

i was trying to give u all a screenshot but i didnt got that again for some reason.....but the last time i got that twice!

"good birds don't fly away, and something about blaming myself"  <---something like that

i was just dailing the dhd and was searching for the right symbols....then i became the bird and saw that sentence.....

is that maybe a function so nobody blocks a vehicle for a long time? i dont know but that would suck ingame...just dial the dhd and u become bird when u are not fast enough....

nobody had the same?

i just play and that happened.....and like u maybe know it sucks^^

Did you buy the orginal game?

With the cracked version the game knows its cracked and will do that. Found that out when my friend was over and wanted to play multi with him from my other pc and installed it over there with a  no dvd crack. Doesnt happen alot but it does happen. Now i just put my dvd in one pc and start it and then to the other pc and start it and that works  ;)

Blessed be those cracks... my drives would've exploded already if it wasn't for them.
Also, my bro and I used to want to play the game simultaneously at times, but he wouldn't let me get the DVD on the excuse that the game may crash if the DVD was out, so a crack helped me get around the problem.

Bad birds get caught!!!!
« Reply #11 on: May 19, 2008, 07:43:14 pm »

If you randomly turn into a bird and see that message, then you are a "bad bird" and most likely sing this song in the shower every morning:

"Yo, ho, Ho, HO, a pirates life fer meeeeee!!!!!"

Now we know where you get the name 'Bandit' from...

;)

hehe, j/k bro....

As for the CD protection, BIS typically leaves the CD check turned off for their BETA releases.  When they released the last final patch for OFP, I just kept using the same equivalent BETA since nothing changed other than them turning the CD checker back on.  I think it's their way of secretly acknowledging that CD checkers suck, especially for people who play many different games and have to keep swapping disks, but they can't exactly announce that to the world.

They'll likely do the same for ArmA whenever they release their absolute final version.  This is probably why 1.12 has been in BETA for so long, which is good for us!  :)

This is an anti-pirate feature (as previously mentioned), more info's avaliable at http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?s=f39bfe9fe72bcc6fce267c65a5cb6171;act=ST;f=68;t=73665.

If you have a legal copy then it probably a bad batch, contact your retailer for a new disc.

Other than that i'm locking the topic incase any vistors think we're promoting pirated copys.
