New Forum Structure & Rules
« on: April 14, 2010, 01:21:35 pm »

Hello everyone,

I'd like to introduce the new structure for the developers section of the forums, it has been designed to allow people to get the information they crave quickly and easily.

This section is now split into three subsection, each with its own purpose and level of access:
  • Developers Projects (Topics include news of the mod itself and forum issues i.e. 'New Rules') - Moderator Topics & All Posts
  • Project Type (Topics include news on projects in that category i.e. 'Units') - Developer Topics & All Post
  • Release (Topics include releases for projects in the previous section i.e. 'SGC Personel') - Developer Topics & Posts

The idea is that you can browse to your desired area and check up on news, post comments, etc without the risk of cuttering up the forum for other users.

Now as with any change its going to need tweaking but we're hoping that it'll work out for the better, please feel free to comments and offer crtisism.

(a note to all developers, please create new release topics in the 'Release' subtopic where applicable; please refrain from posting download links in the news topics, instead post links to the release topic)

ITER was originally an acronym for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, but that title was dropped due to the negative popular connotation of "thermonuclear", especially when in conjunction with "experimental".

I think the new layout is good. Once all the addon makers get around to putting their releases in the subtopic area it should really simplify finding stuff.

There seems to be a problem with the "release" subforum of the subsections, e.g. units -> Release. It seems normal users can't access it, I also couldn't see the subforums when I logged out.

Hi All,

The forums have been updated again and its possible that a few of the posted internal links (links going to other topics) might have broken in the process.

If anyone spots one of these broken links can they pm me about it, thanks.
