Notes to the Zat gun:
  • This addon requires the Extended_Eventhandler addon. Link: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2605
  • The zat gun can be opened and closed by firing in the respective fire mode. First shot stuns, second within short time kills. Vanishing on the third, is and will not be implemented. A weapon crate is included (Empty->Ammo->'Zat gun box', class name: "Pwr_sg_zat_weaponbox" ).  When you pick one up, ArmA automaticly fills all your free magazine slots, but you only need to pick up 1 magazine for the zat gun, to make it work. Put back all other zat gun magazines, so that some ammo is still left when another player wants to grab a zat gun too. It's self-recharging, just close and open it again and you got full ammo.

awesome!!!

just a question:

how long does the enemy keep stunned? will he lay on the ground during that time?

if not it would rock if you could do that.maybe that you can take his weapons while he is stunned.

Currently it's a random duration between 30s and 50s. Mission makers can adjust that as they wish, by running this code in the missions init.sqs/sqf:

waitUntil { PWR_SG_ZAT_initialised };
PWR_SG_ZAT_STUNTIMEOUT = [30, 20, 3];

Desription of the array 'PWR_SG_ZAT_STUNTIMEOUT':

1st entry: minimum duration when being unconscious (here: 30s)
2nd entry: additional random duration when being unconscious (here: 0s - 20s)
3rd entry: time when a second hit is still deadly after a stunned unit woke up again. (here: 3s)

Did you try it? Yes he will.

You can remove his weapon, but not take it. Could change it though, when requested a lot.

unfortunatly i cant try it right now.i am at work^^ can only test it later

well removing the weapon is also nice but the ability to take the weapons would be sure pretty usefull
but sounds really cool cant wait to test it

wow that awesome!! good to see some new stuff!

but the stun thing doesnt work with the Jaffa units^^

and i think the rate of fire should be a little higher.

but great work! the model look very cool!

can you increase the rate of fire a little bit?
and the shots are more like a burst not semi shots. look this video:


and can you change it that it shoots like a burst instead of one single shot? and that it stuns with one burst... so the shooting effect looks better i think.

tanya or colonell well´s aliens?

or was it just the bugy goaulds,which had that problem

Should work with the tanya addon, it doesn't use any eventhandlers.
But it won't with the alien addon. Would have to create a fix for it first,
or colonell well edits his config and makes use of the Extended_Eventhandlers addon.

Basicly the Zat gun works with any unit which doesn't have any eventhandlers or uses the Extended_Eventhandlers addon for them.

cant play arma right now so pls excuse my question:
what will happen when i shoot the aliens?
are they stunned but without animation or wont it work at all?



btw no need for fix:P the aliens got a special skin which protects them from it^^

For them the zat gun is like a normal pistol, no stunning, no nothing.
They are missing the hit-eventhandler that detects a zat gun hit.
