ITER was originally an acronym for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, but that title was dropped due to the negative popular connotation of "thermonuclear", especially when in conjunction with "experimental".

I think it doesn't look so bad. Renovation is always good, and the series (at least the trailers) have this dark look, sort of spooky, a terror movie, that looks good. Though we shouldn't be too quick at judging it, not until we see it for real, the full thing, as teasers usually distort reality or tend to create too big a hype.

Cheers

Master Bra'tac beat Apophis in a game of chess. Using Mr Bun the Baker.

When Master Bra'tac fell from above and failed to learn to fly on the way down, Hannor Mir still became a street pizza.

Infinity.

No, that was really crap. They tried to convert Stargate into some sort of kiddo-manga animated stuff. That's horrible. Doesn't really fit the franchise as Stargate looks good only as real stuff, not just drawed one (CG doesn't count hehe). I really hate manga, lol.

It looks a bit like battlestar galactica.
I like more if they make 11 season of sg-1

This thread is not for spoilers, SGU hasn't aired far and wide yet.
Emotive views will sway opinion unfairly.
Make a marked spoiler thread to discuss the show in detail.
Generic opinion is welcome in this thread.

Use common sense, people.
If a topic does not belong in here, I will split it out into its own topic if it merits it, or it will be removed.

I'll say that from what I've seen of it so far (46 minutes in) it seems to be good. A possible case of bad trailer syndrome, which a lot of programmes suffer from currently.

Enough programmes, in fact, to make me wonder if it is deliberate clever marketing: You see a bad trailer for something you'd want to see, then when you see it you're amazed at how much better it was than you first thought so you tell more people anmd they go and watch it and it spreads

I agree, I've also been positively surprised.
With this, and House's S6, I'm pretty much scheduled. :)

I've watched the first three episodes now and it's getting along good. The first episode cleared the questions that the trailers left for me.
So I'm eagerly waiting for more and looking forward to where the journey brings them after they've fixed the ship and established a food supply (which may take a few more episodes).

So far, I've watched Air parts I, II, and III, and Darkness. And I like what I'm seeing.
Though it's not surprising to see so many dumb whiners out there. The youtube trailers are full of comments saying how much crap it is and how the producers don't listen to their requests... it's absurd.
