I doubt there will be a "complete" release anytime soon as modding is a constant process, new versions get released etc...

If there's one "complete" package you'll allways have to update the whole package once a new version of an addon is out, this time would be better spent in fixing stuff.

Guys, playing with our addons is not like preparing a modded Oblivion/Morrowind/Fallout 3. For this site, you just visit the release subforums and download everything that's there. Takes maybe 5mins to start all downloads, then wait for the dls to finish, unpack all pbos and put them into a modfolder.

That's nothing like getting mods for TES 3/IV/F3.

e.g. After re-installing Morrowind I visit this site on a looong afternoon:
http://www.mwmythicmods.com/telesphoros.htm

There I download about ~130 mods. Afterwards I visit sites like TES fileplanet and look in the hall of fame, another 20 mods. Then visit the bethsoft forums to get another 10 cool mods. Now I use a load order guide and carefully put all the 150+ mods in the correct order. I start up TESTool and create a leveled list so the mods don't conflict too much.

Then I start up the game and after playing for some minute I'm like "Oh wait, I think I didn't install mod xy and mod zx, let's check that list and forums again". And install more addons... more ... and more.

I agree with the above - the advantage to ArmA modding is that it is on the whole addon based rather than "a mod".
This piecemeal approach is great in that it allows everyone to work on seperate pieces of the project and release complete versions at different points.

I doubt we'll reach a "final release version" point, just a point where none of the addons are developed further.

Master Bra'tac beat Apophis in a game of chess. Using Mr Bun the Baker.

When Master Bra'tac fell from above and failed to learn to fly on the way down, Hannor Mir still became a street pizza.

Yep it's actually that easy  :p

Have a look at these tutorials, they are for OFP (Operation Flashpoint), the predecessor, but still apply:
You just have to switch every OFP or Flashpoint mentioned in the tutorial for ArmA.

http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?special=articles/keepitclean.html&newlang=eng
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Modfolders

The tutorials still apply, you just need to switch "OFP" for ArmA2 and flashpointresistance.exe for arma2.exe
