i am also thinking when the vehicle you are using is in the air try using some glow / blur combination!
a video / sequence gets lame after a while but blur and stuff is everytime something else^^
with a blue glow or something the blur looks like hyperspace

and i really would prefer a automatly switch back from the map view after choosing the point.

and btw awesome shields!!!!!!!!^^

EDIT:

after you have choosen the point of destination you leave automatly the map modus and you got something 10 sec(you should raise it to ten) and then "jump" now some blur which gets stronger and stronger(starts real slow) during that your ship/plane/boat speeds up slowly(real speed boost) and then BAM some big explosion(seeable and causing damage) for the ones which are left behind.and the same goes backwards when you are leaving hyperspace.

in the faked hyperspace add now some heavy blur with blue glow or something and maybe some lightnings

Ok i'm done with my exams now and may find enough time to work on the hyperdrive again.

The next big step will consist of adding a hyperspace-animation.

nice news^^ thought you already gave up^^
btw add some BAAM if you can^^ in the show there was everytime a sound like a explosion when they were leaving the hyperspace

if you can pls add the automatly leaving from the map view after choosing the point of destination and what pls higher the time you got the "jump" option available (like 10 seconds) i was in a amazing dogfight and well i thought this is my only chance to escape......i fired some shoots and well then i was getting shot..........i tryed to escape but i couldnt jump anymore :(

and is there a way to protect the hyperspace from outsite using?^^ my friend managed somehow to fly pretty near to me......and he activated my hyperspace-.-" i flyed directly into a mountain..........

and i have a little idea if you like to make it(myself fails at coding....):
you got shields and you got hyperspace! but one thing is missing!.......................teleportation!

i thought about a menu option like "teleport" after choosen you get a camera view of the map(starting at your vehicle) towards the ground.you can move around the camera and zoom in and zoom out(like in the satellite addon).Instead of that a normal map view sure gonna do it aswell(but the other part would be way cooler for direct teleport)

now you click on the map or choose in the camera view the option "mark" (setting some trigger)

now you can press "teleport in" or "teleport out" or "emergency teleport"

teleport in: all persons in range of the trigger gets teleported with into the vehicle ("move in cargo")
teleport out: one person in the vehicle gets teleported out (starting with the other seats and finishing with the pilot himself)
emergency teleport: all persons inside the vehicle will be teleported!

some blue glowing or something and where a guy was standing is now nothing anymore.or a beam like the asgard got

sure this feature should also drain fuel (or lets call it energy) the more meter away the more fuel gets drained#
but it only works for 100meter or something like that.to make it more fair

so what do you think about it? should be possible for someone with your skills^^
later when someone makes more vehicles like the ones of poweruser you could add extra seats which are just for teleportation. teleport platform and stuff

well dont know.......how do you mean what happens?

do you mean: what should happen? or what will arma do?

well for "what should happen?" :
just a message "vehicle full" or "not enough space left"

for "what will arma do?":
i dont know if the game just gives error messages or if it replaces already taken positions with other ones

this way or the other it should drain fuel even when it aint working cause of full vehicle

for the Wraith glyders you could add another teleportation system.something like a simple box somewhere in the air and when you got scanned you get teleported into the box.same goes backwards

the only thing ive got so far is a rip-out from the satcom mod:
-'select beampos'-action
-select a position on the map, where a cam is created
-if you want to beam, press a key, if you want to leave the cam view, press another key (if you only want to set the position where you want to be beamed from you can leave the cam view, and press the key inflight for example)

i can succesfully create a trigger, but have problems with the script it should run. i hope the "try and error"-method will help me to find a working solution.

well its kinda really a rip off..............with a added teleportation.....then a little bit fuel drain and range limit........and you got a perfect meal;P

would be nice if the trigger stays as long untill you reset it so your teammember got enough time to get into the beam area

i got some parts running!

You can select a position on the map, the trigger will be set to that position, and if you press "s" (ill change the key xD) anybody near this position (range 20 meters atm) will be teleported to an other position.

It would be cool, if someone could model some effects for that 'asgard-beam' and maybe i can find a sound.

The position is saved as long as you change it.

It is not wired to a vehicle yet, i still have no idea where to put the people you have teleported.
Are they your teammates? (atm all men will be teleported) If not, what happens with them? Do you beam them into your spaceship or do you beam them to some other position? If spaceship, currently there are only the Tel'tak and the Al'kesh available, with only two seats, will you beam them into the interior? If you could select the range of the asgard-beam-grabber-trigger, what happens if you select more ppl then fit into the interior of the teltak? How can a solution of these problems be handy and unviersal?

Ive fixed the bug ive mentioned above by adding some Global variables, so the current version is not Multiplayerfriendly.

its cool if the trigger stays untill you reset him! this way you could plan and use it when the time has come.

well can you make it so you can only beam people which are in your team?
this way it wouldnt be unfair that you beam other guys into a ship what is going to crash...
so you cant use it as weapon.

it enough when you can beam into and urself and your team outsite of it
or you add something like a trigger which you can set aswell!
so you can beam the enemys directly to that place or your team

for the seats......well later spaceship creators should add extra seats just for this feature!
so when you beam the beamed guys sit on something like a beam platform.

pls keep it multiplayer compatibel! would be a shame if you cant use it in multiplayer!

for the overload of beaming guys....maybe you could add something like a vehicle name
so when the vehicle dies it shows not only: "the object has died" it shows the name which you give him.
in that name config you could also set the amoung of seats in this vehicle.so it gives a error message if you want to beam and the vehicle is full.

to prevent a overload when to much people are in range:
well some vehicle can aim at people.........is it possible to add something like that? mark someone and then beam him?

for the beam and sound:
http://www.stargateassault.net/forum/index.php/topic,2236.0.html
if you ask him nice he sure gives permission^^

when you combine your shields, hyperspace, beam technology you should thing about something like a little gui:P
where you can set all three things together

if its possible to add something little where you still can fly around

what you also could think would be a complete new addon^^
sure first finish this one but you could keep it in mind.

BACK TO THE FUTURE!

all you need to do is take your blur and glow stuff(when you managed to get it done),remove the needed height and add needed speed, and then a menu where you set the point where you wanna go to and a option for "Time circuits on"  and when you now drive above 88 miles per hour then BOOM you get to the point where you wanted;) back to the future style:P with fire where the wheels were^^ and stuff

maybe also or only with server time change....but that would be suck cause you sure dont get everybody into the car........so for some guys its baaaaaaam now its dark......
but would be cool to have it;) then all whats missing would be a delorean.but with the current sport cars it should work aswell;)

but would be still kinda cool;)

you can easily have your back to the future style;)

go to your missions folder and open hyper2.sqs

there you find:

?(_pos select 2 < 0):goto"fail"
?(fuel _object < 0.1):goto"fail"
?(_pos select 2 > 6000):goto"fail"

change it to:

?(_pos select 2 > 5000):goto"fail"
?(fuel _object < 0.1):goto"fail"
?(_pos select 2 > 6000):goto"fail"

now find some car you like and add the script to one vehicle.
add this to its init line:

[this]exec"hashyper.sqs";

now you can jump with cars to every place you like^^ pretty funny:D

anything new? or havent you found the time to work again on this?^^

btw that car jumping is awesome:D
just dumb that you fall out of the sky.............it should be changed so you stay in the height where you jumped from
also if you could give things names.........everytime there stands "the object died" would be cool if you see X303 died.

just hoping you didnt lose the joy to work on this.....its really one of the coolest scripts so far and it can become even cooler!
