'StarGate:Challanged Empires' Announced
« on: July 11, 2006, 05:14:38 pm »

We at DSF Productions would like to mark our return to the OPFlash StarGate with the announcement of our new project 'StarGate:Challanged Empires'.

This MOD is being designed as a new Multiplayer Game Type, where players from two different teams, human and Gou'ld will travel from there homeworld through the expanses of space to colonise or enslave the worlds they encounter.

Think large battles based around controlling the gates of various worlds, each with their own strategic value or resource.

BMP's vs. Gou'ld ForceSheilds, whilst 302's battle Deathgilders above.

Each planet settled will allow passage to the next, gate addresses can be recovered from ruins all this leading up to the invasion of the enemy homeworld.

If the Community likes the idea then we'll start, if not then it'll be shelved.

Give us your opinion and ideas.

ITER was originally an acronym for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, but that title was dropped due to the negative popular connotation of "thermonuclear", especially when in conjunction with "experimental".

Well i've started development, already have buildable bases and a number of stargates to explore other planets.

Any idea's or requests would be welcome.

check "user screenshots" and at the last page there are three from inside the piramid. I'll jump in a chopper and take a screenshot from outside.

I practicly have a nice goa'uld base (on a world, just a piramid and some jaffa) i'm going to use in missions so if you want i'll send it you and you can figure out the rest for yourself. :)

Send away, sounds like it would make a good buildling for the gou'ld homeworld.

Ok, choice time.
Would people rather prefer an already built (same for each game) base at the start or a random position for you to build your own custom base?

Secondly, in order to make this mod work I?€™m going to have to update and change the v1.3 of the StarGate, essentially making a new v1.4.
I'll leave the current scripts alone so it continues to work with most of the current missions but there, might be a few exceptions.

If you have any requests for the new gate then post them here.

The Stargate Mod is no CTI, so it will be fine for me to have the bases pre-built.

About making a 1.4, be sure to check on Walmis, he had even a Pegasus gate and DHD, maybe you can get all things in a single pack.

Requests... Fix the transparency errors in the ramp (that weren't present in previous versions) and the white texture error in the lower supports, both sides.

Also, it would make a nice prop to have the ramp and support without gate, as shown in some of the episodes of the show. Even amazing for video scripting if the gate could be lifted off or landed on the support. :)

More... the possibility that we can choose whether to have a chevron guy say the chevrons or not in Earth base, or the dialing computer to say some sounds as it locks the chevrons... the return of the "No signal" message, the "Alert, Incoming traveller" and "Warning, Unrecognised traveller" messages... and the wildest one... the return of the original blue dialing computer.

Another one, is that if you are planning to implememt an SGC, ask BXBX first to give his, since he may be willing to handle you the things that he seemingsly can't finish or release. He also had Pyramid and rings projects. If you're not lucky on that one, well, I was in a project with Icecoolwrx, I gave him hand-drawn schematics and he modelled them in-game, but it's been some time since I last heard of him, so I've got no problem on sharing those schemes.

If you're in need of some screens too for the things I've requested, I'll gladly provide them.

I know that I've requested a bunch of things... it's not my intention to press you to do anything, but since you are open to requests, I thought it might be a good idea to show all these and leave to you the choice of what things to do and which not.

Thanks for your time,

Cheers.
